A video highlighting the development of the Crescent in Buxton has been launched by the Buxton Crescent Trust.
The 5 minute film gives a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of the £50 million restoration of the Crescent showing the scale of the redevelopment and some of the beautiful features being restored, such as the Assembly Room. Featuring the current Duke of Devonshire, and his ancestor the 5th Duke, it highlights some of the work being done to transform the Grade I listed building into a 5-star luxury 80-bedroom hotel, which is due to open in 2019.
The revived Crescent and adjacent buildings will include:
- • 80 bedroom 5-star spa hotel in the Crescent, incorporating The Assembly Rooms
- • A thermal natural mineral spa in the Natural Baths
- • The Pump Room – an innovative and creative visitor attraction in the Pump Room and parts so the Crescent that will present the town’s spa heritage and allow public access to some of the buildings’ best interiors
- • 6 small boutique shops on the ground floor of the Crescent
The Assembly Rooms and other major features of the Crescent will be open to local residents on 60 days in every year.
